Pioneers enjoy being recognised

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - NEWS -

THE City of Belmont honoured its pioneers at a special function recently.

More than 230 pioneers enjoyed lunch along with entertainment at the function which brought together long-standing residents who have lived in the Belmont area for 50 years or more.

During the lunch, pioneers were encouraged to participate in a singa-long of the song Fair City of Belmont which was written for the opening of the City's Civic Centre in 1979, which no doubt brought back memories to many.

They also received a certificate recognising their contribution to the Belmont community and dedication to the city.
