Service homeless

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - STREET WATCH -

HOMELESS Connect has been left out on the street after it was advised the free warehouse premises it used in 2015 will no longer be available.

A partnership between Volunteering WA and the City of Perth, Homeless Connect works to deliver a one-day, one-stop shop for people who are disadvantaged and need assistance to new pathways and connections.

Since its inception nine years ago, the service has made use of free secure warehouse accommodation where its volunteers collect and sort much needed donations.

It is now desperately in search of a new warehouse ahead of its collection campaign commencing in the next month.

Homeless Connect now requires a minimum of 500sq m space with a roller door and the ability for a small truck to enter the premise.

For ease of people dropping off their donations, an ideal location would be within 10-15km of the CBD.

Anybody who might be able to help is asked to contact Marija Jelavic on 0419 993 789 or at marija@volunteeringwa.org.au.
