Applications open for Seniors Week grants

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - NEWS -

ONE of WA’s peak senior’s bodies is offering grants of up to $1000 to offset the cost of hosting an event or activity during Seniors Week which is from November 6-13.

Council on Ageing WA, supported by Lotterywest and the State Government, is inviting organisations to apply for the funding.

Eligible events should meet at least one of the aims of the Seniors Week which are to recognise and thank seniors for their contribution to the community, promote intergenerational activities link seniors to the community, facilitate artistic, cultural and celebratory expression and engage seniors activities and initiatives that encourage active ageing.

Applications are strongly encouraged for events aimed at seniors who would not normally participate in Seniors Week activities or events, or who are at risk of becoming socially isolated, or are members of indigenous or culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, August 19.
