Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

SURELY, the Minister for Police and the local Member for Belmont, Glenys Godfrey MLA, cannot stand by their earlier comments about the Government’s investment in local policing, given the shocking crime statistics released last week.

Belmont has seen crime rise more than 20 per cent, with the Police Commissioner admitting that there are just not enough officers on our streets – no surprise for residents there.

We need more police now and we need them on our local streets, not in Cannington or Midland. SUE PETHICK, Redcliffe.
