RETIRE TO A LIFE OF LUXURY
NOT-FOR-PROFIT aged care provider SwanCare has launched a display apartment in its new $20 million retirement complex Akora in Bentley Park.
The public is invited to view the ground-floor unit, which features an openplan design, two bedrooms, a study and two bathrooms.
SwanCare chief executive Graham Francis said the display apartment reflected the next generation of retirement village accommodation, where the emphasis was on security, comfort and lifestyle.
“The hallmark of Akora is contemporary apartments built for residents who want to be able to lock up and leave if they like to travel, but who also want the peace of mind of knowing that care assistance is available,” Mr Francis said.
The complex will be eco-friendly with an average seven-star rating for each apartment’s energy efficiency and thermal comfort, as well as incorporating waterefficient fixtures and fittings, LED lighting, motion sensors, rooftop solar system and an electricity monitoring package to reduce energy consumption and running costs.
Residents will also enjoy Akora’s communal areas, including a proposed groundfloor cafe, residents’ lounge, mezzanine area and outdoor piazza with landscaped gardens, all smoke-free.
Designed by Silver Thomas Hanley and Hillam Architects, the Akora complex will feature 44 stylish apartments to be completed in October, with one, two and twobedroom with study configurations starting from $475,000.
The display unit on the corner of Adie Court and Jarrah Road is available for inspection by appointment.
