CEO to call it quits next year

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - NEWS -

CITY of Belmont chief executive Stuart Cole has announced he will retire in August next year.

Mr Cole has worked in local government for 42 years, including 22 at the City of Belmont, nine as its chief executive.

During his tenure at the City, Mr Cole has been a part of a number of significant projects, such as the City of Opportunity Marketing Strategy.

“I have been proud and privileged to be a part of this organisation and have enjoyed my time at the City of Belmont,” he said. “However, I am looking forward to the next phase of my life and spending more time with my family.”

The recruitment process for a new chief executive officer will be a long and intensive exercise, so Mr Cole’s early announcement provides the City with a chance to ensure that there is a smooth and seamless transition when he retires.

“It will be business as usual until the appointment of a new chief executive officer,” Mr Cole said.
