Striking design for City banners

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - NEWS -

BELMONT City College created a striking banner in the annual City of Belmont Banners in the Terrace competition.

The banner was a project for the after school art class held at Belmont City College and run by visual arts teacher Michelle Nelson.

Students designed and painted the banner to the theme of local impact.

The competition was organised by the Western Australian Local Government Association. The banners were displayed on St Georges and Adelaide terraces.

WALGA chief executive officer Ricky Burges said the competition featured 59 banners from around WA.

She said the banners showed the variety of landscapes, life styles and communities that exist across the State.

Belmont Mayor Phil Marks and Belmont City College principal Darrel Le Mercier.
