Name change reflects club’s new status

A VICTORIA Park-based triathlon club has rebranded itself in a move to help its juniors compete on a bigger stage.

Eclipse Fitness changed its name on August 1 to the Eclipse Performance Centre.

Director and assistant coach Bonnie Durham said the decision to change the name and business structure to a not-for-profit company was something that was coming for the past 18 months.

“The decision was made so we can attract more funding opportunities and then send our athletes to the eastern states to perform against other high performance athletes,” she said, adding that it would be easier as a not-for-profit organisation to raise money.

The club will hold an open day at the Aqualife Centre in Victoria Park on September 10.
