Muf­fin but the best

THE own­ers of Mill­stream Patis­serie be­lieve they have the best muffins in WA.

Now they have a gold medal at the Perth Royal Show, they have ev­ery right to be­lieve so.

The own­ers of the South Perth bak­ery, Hieu Dinh and Yen Ma, are ec­static about the win fol­low­ing a big six months in which they moved from Mends Street to the South Shore shop­ping cen­tre.

They also won a bronze medals for their vanilla slices and footy pies in a pos­i­tive sign for their bak­ing prow­ess.

Mr Dinh said they sub­mit­ted sev­eral flavours of muffins for the com­pe­ti­tion, in­clud­ing blue­berry, straw­berry and ba­nana choc chip.

“I dropped them off and then came back in the af­ter­noon and that’s when I saw the re­sult,” he said.

“I was very happy but I though we would do well; I was con­fi­dent.

“We’ve en­tered ev­ery year since 2006 be­cause the com­pe­ti­tions teach us a lot.”

Mrs Ma said the win con­firmed their be­lief that they had the best muffins in the state.

“We are num­ber one, we were the only bak­ery to win gold,” she said.

“There were more than 70 bak­eries that en­tered, so it means a lot to us.”
