Flu jab ben­e­fits reach chil­dren in In­dia

WATER­FORD and Bel­mont res­i­dents who had flu vac­ci­na­tions at Dis­count Drug Stores helped raise $22,000 for dis­ad­van­taged chil­dren in In­dia.

The store contributed $2 from ev­ery vac­ci­na­tion na­tion­ally to the char­ity FreeToBe, which helps pro­tect chil­dren in Kolkata against se­ri­ous con­di­tions such as hep­ati­tis B, ty­phoid and tetanus.

“We are so grate­ful to the com­mu­nity for their in­creas­ing sup­port as it has not only cre­ated amaz­ing pos­i­tive health­care change in our own back yard but also in dis­ad­van­taged com­mu­ni­ties in In­dia,” spokes­woman Stephe­nie Shea said.
