WA performed well at the 2016 ACA Golf Croquet Nationals, claiming second prize in the Interstate Shield competition at the Como Croquet Club on Sunday.

Five days of competition at the club culminated with WA defeating New South Wales nine matches to two, to be the runners-up to Victoria.

Como Croquet Club president Alan Sands said second place was a great result for WA, as the level of competition had been high.

“We also hosted the men’s and women’s singles and the experience has been great for the club,” he said.

“It’s an opportunity to spruce up the club and build on what we have.

“Our players have been able to view some really good play and see the skill and tactics that they would not normally be able to see.”

Queensland players Rosemary Newsham and Peter Nicholson.
