Art­works will brighten up com­mu­nity hub

THE City of South Perth’s Man­ning Com­mu­nity Hub is near­ing com­ple­tion, with pub­lic art­work be­gin­ning to be in­stalled.

A se­ries of free­stand­ing and in­te­grated art­works by team Su­san Milne and Greg Stone­house is ex­pected to com­ple­ment the form and colours of the build­ing.

The team’s con­cept de­sign, Im­print, will use sus­pended mesh and LED light­ing to cre­ate a large sculp­ture, with the art­work to sit in the en­trance to the hub.

Also in­cluded is a se­ries of ap­prox­i­mately 20 light boxes that will be filled with cu­rated ob­jects, im­ages and ma­te­ri­als.

To cel­e­brate the of­fi­cial open­ing of the new ‘heart’ of Man­ning, the City plans to hold a com­mu­nity open day in Fe­bru­ary.
