A MOTORBIKE rider had his blue Yamaha YZ250 stolen by two men near Centenary Park on August 24. About 7.45pm the victim was riding near the intersection of Hardey Road and Elmsfield Street. Kensington detectives say something hit the victim on the shoulder from behind and he lost control and fell off. Two men approached him, trook his helmet from his head, picked up the bike and walked off, pushing it towards Daly Street. The victim was was treated for a fractured kneecap. SOUTH PERTH TWO Belmont men were charged by Midland Detectives for a string of stealing and driving offences after they tried to evade police. It was alleged the men stole a Volkswagen Golf sedan during a burglary in Floreat on the morning of August 29. The two occupants of the stolen car abandoned it on Hovia Terrace in Como and fled on foot. It is also alleged the men attempted to stop a number of passing motorists on Canning Highway, seemingly in an attempt to gain access to another car to depart the area. Kensington Detectives took the men into custody on Canning Highway. A 30-year-old man of Belmont was charged with stealing a motor vehicle and driving recklessly, failing to stop, having no authority to drive, eight counts of stealing, two counts of possessing stolen unlawfully obtained property and criminal damage by fire. A 21-year-old man of Belmont was charged with stealing a motor vehicle, possessing stolen unlawfully obtained property and six counts of stealing. VICTORIA PARK KENSINGTON Detectives have charged two people in relation to a number of offences that were committed across the Perth metropolitan area between August 22 to 30. A 27-year-old woman from Katanning was due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on the offences of stealing a motor vehicle, stealing, fraud and unlawful possession. A 39-year-old man from Belmont was due to appear before Perth District Court on September 14 on the offences of stealing a motor vehicle, burglary, stealing and criminal damage.
