Sale Trail a major success
CITY of South Perth households, schools and community groups were among hundreds of thousands of people across the country who took part in the national reuse, community and sustainable living event, the Garage Sale Trail on October 22.
This was the second year the City took part, with 60 sales registered to households and community groups throughout the City, including the Manning Men’s Shed and South Perth Aboriginal community group Moorditj Keila.
The Garage Sale Trail was established in 2010 and has grown from a grassroots event to a program powered by over 150 councils nationally.
By organising communities around Australia to host and shop at garage sales on one big day, the Garage Sale Trail aims to encourage reuse, unite communities, create awareness around the issues of illegal dumping, provide a platform for fundraising and inspire creativity.
