Jonathan Wells (28) scored a stunning century for Perth in Premier Cricket on Saturday to bang down the selection door as he bids for a place in WA’s Sheffield Shield side.
Wells again put Perth in a strong position against Midland-Guildford at Fletcher Park after hammering 144, with the former Tasmanian making it three centuries in two weeks.
He hopes to be part of the WA side taking on New South Wales in Sydney from Friday.
Angus Webster was the main supporter with a halfcentury as Perth made 7-342, to be in a dominant position going into the second day from 11.40am on Saturday.
