Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

DO YOU have a house in your neighbourhood that runs its sprinklers for an hour every second morning? It can become really annoying. We live on the driest continent on earth. Water is a precious commodity. What right do householders think they have to run their reticulation outside of their rostered days? And for so long that water runs down the street and into the drain. Be aware, you can report them. And it could cost them a $100 fine. Just go to the Water Corporation website and click on the “Save Water” tag. Scroll down and click on the tag “What can I do if I see someone watering outside of their days?” and fill out the sprinkler breach form. On a big-picture scale, it is time that Perth residents ditched their pampered green lawns for some more waterwise solutions. There is quite a bit of watersaving information on the Water Corporation site.
