Sport program for seniors expanded
MORE seniors will have the chance to be active after the State Government decided to expand the SilverSport pilot program.
Premier Colin Barnett announced the expansion of the SilverSport program to three additional areas during a visit to Have a Go Day celebrations in Burswood during WA Seniors Week.
Based on the State Government’s KidSport program, SilverSport provides up to $200 towards fees, uniforms and equipment needed for eligible seniors sport and recreation activities.
The program is being piloted in Belmont, Kwinana, Northam and KalgoorlieBoulder/Coolgardie for those aged 60 years and over.
