Sport pro­gram for se­niors ex­panded

MORE se­niors will have the chance to be ac­tive af­ter the State Gov­ern­ment de­cided to ex­pand the Sil­verS­port pi­lot pro­gram.

Pre­mier Colin Bar­nett an­nounced the ex­pan­sion of the Sil­verS­port pro­gram to three ad­di­tional ar­eas dur­ing a visit to Have a Go Day cel­e­bra­tions in Burswood dur­ing WA Se­niors Week.

Based on the State Gov­ern­ment’s KidS­port pro­gram, Sil­verS­port pro­vides up to $200 to­wards fees, uni­forms and equip­ment needed for el­i­gi­ble se­niors sport and recre­ation ac­tiv­i­ties.

The pro­gram is be­ing pi­loted in Bel­mont, Kwinana, Northam and Kal­go­or­lieBoul­der/Cool­gar­die for those aged 60 years and over.
