Perth player’s number comes in
A LUCKY West Australian has won a share of Saturday’s Lotto Superdraw Division 1 prize pool.
Taking home a cool $1.9 million, the winning ticket was one of 11 purchased nationwide.
Another 21 WA ticket holders won $10,586 each in Division 2.
The golden ticket was sold at Belmont News in Cloverdale.
The store is on a lucky streak. It sold a Division 1 winning ticket worth $200,493 last month.
Owner John Ferrier said 2016 has been their luckiest year.
“We’ve sold a lot of first division Lotto and scratchie tickets,” he said.
He hopes Saturday’s winner is a regular customer.
“Then they’ll come in and tell me,” he said. “In all my years of selling Division 1 winners nobody has ever come in and said, ‘I won!’.
“It’d be nice if someone came in and said thanks for selling them the ticket.”
Lotterywest spokeswoman Pina Compagnone said Cloverdale was WA’s current Lotto hot spot, with five division 1 winning tickets sold in the suburb this year.
