Deague departure likely well-planned
THE CITY of Belmont was dealt a blow with the announcement that its Director of Community and Statutory Services Neville Deague will be retiring in August 2017 after taking long service leave.
His career in local government spanned 44 years, with 29 at the City of Belmont.
Previously he worked in planning in local government and in Papua New Guinea.
Belmont chief executive Stuart Cole said Mr Deague had been the architect of significant progress in the City and worked tirelessly to ensure it reached its full potential in a carefully planned manner.
“Mr Deague will not only be a significant loss to Belmont but also the broader planning profession,” he said.
