Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

OBSERVING politicians today, one is reminded of the barrage balloons ringing cities and airports in the UK during the last World War.

Both share the same features – big bags of gas not doing very much, except for taking up a lot of space.

At least the balloons required a miniscule amount of money to perform a function. If only one could say the same about “pollies”.

The war ended and the balloons were packed away. Politicians go on forever, it seems. R.M. RUSSELL, Mt Nasura.
