School holiday fun

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

AS the weather warms, children are invited to the South Perth Library for a range of cool activities and events.

Summer gets off to a flying start at the Community Hall on December 7 with the Storytime Christmas Party. From 10.30am, pre-school-aged children are invited to hear stories with the amazing Glenn Swift and there may even be a visit by a special guest (Ho! Ho! Ho!).

This is a free event but bookings are essential for catering purposes.

Throughout January the library participates in the Summer Reading Club, a free online and in-library holiday program run in partnership with State Library of Queensland, the Australian Library and Information Association, and the Australian Public Library Alliance.

The program is aimed at keeping young readers inspired through the holidays and includes a blog with Australian Children’s Laureate Leigh Hobbs and children’s author Deborah Abela.
