Get a grant to host a street party

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - STREET WATCH -

THE Town of Victoria Park has launched the Street Meet ‘n’ Greet program taking place this summer, offering mini-grants to people who would like to organise a small party to get to know their neighbours.

Applications are open for people to receive $250 mini-grants for neighbourhood get-togethers or $1000 mini-grants for neighbourhood park parties.

The program encourages and assists residents to get to know their neighbours, helping to build a strong and vibrant community.

Town of Victoria Park Mayor Trevor Vaughan said he wanted the community to feel connected.

“There is something comforting about living in a neighbourhood where people stop and chat in the street and are willing to give each other a hand when needed,” he said.

Application forms to hold neighbourhood get-togethers or park parties, and further information about the mini-grants, are available at www.victoriapark.wa.gov.au.
