DE­TEC­TIVES from the Re­gional In­ves­ti­ga­tion Unit are in­ves­ti­gat­ing an armed rob­bery that oc­curred at The Lunch Club in Carlisle on De­cem­ber 12.

Po­lice said a man en­tered the store on Oats Street at 2.40pm, ap­proached the counter and threat­ened staff with a knife whilst de­mand­ing money from the cash reg­is­ter.

The man grabbed the reg­is­ter and staff in­ter­vened. He then al­legedly threw the cash reg­is­ter at staff be­fore flee­ing the store on foot. The man was seen run­ning south on Har­ris Street, Carlisle.

De­tec­tives want to speak to the man pic­tured. They be­lieve he could as­sist with in­quiries.

The man was cap­tured on nearby CCTV shortly af­ter the in­ci­dent. He is de­scribed as light-skinned, 175cm tall with a medium build and short dark curly hair.

Po­lice want to speak to this man.
