RES­I­DENTS who use the Ar­madale and Thorn­lie train lines will have to ad­just their com­mute sched­ule un­til af­ter Jan­uary 22 due to rail­way in­fra­struc­ture work for Perth sta­dium sta­tion.

On week­days, trains will run on a half-hour sched­ule from the first ser­vice un­til about around 6.30pm. The 17day dis­rup­tion be­gan on Jan­uary 6.

Pas­sen­gers will have to change trains at Carlisle sta­tion.

On weeknights, all trains on the Ar­madale and Thorn­lie lines will be can­celled from about 7pm. Train re­place­ment buses will op­er­ate.

On week­ends, fewer trains will run be­tween Carlisle and Ar­madale.

Trains will be can­celled be­tween Perth and Carlisle, with re­place­ment buses op­er­at­ing.

The last nor­mal train ser­vice will de­part from Perth to Ar­madale at 6.47pm, Perth to Can­ning­ton at 7.02pm and Perth to Thorn­lie at 7.07pm.

The last nor­mal train ser­vice from Ar­madale will de­part at 7.31pm and Thorn­lie to Perth at 7.35pm on Fri­day.

Spokesman David Hynes said Transperth planned the works to co­in­cide with the qui­etest time on the net­work – the post-Christ­mas pe­riod, dur­ing school and univer­sity hol­i­days and out­side AFL sea­son.

“Works to com­plete Sta­dium Sta­tion and the Vic­to­ria Park stow road can­not oc­cur with­out the dis­rup­tion,” he said.
