A leisurely approach
THE City of Belmont has unanimously approved pursuing the option to build a new leisure centre next to the Belmont Oasis Leisure facility.
Estimated to cost about $40 million, the new facility will allow Belmont Oasis to remain open while the project is built.
Belmont council was presented four options by private company AECOM for the aquatic centre’s redevelopment at the November 29 Information Forum last year.
AECOM were hired in March 2016 to develop a master plan for the centre.
Funding, the final development concept and potential management will be investigated by the City before a final report is presented to council for approval later this year.
