CAN­NING­TON Po­lice are seek­ing the pub­lic’s as­sis­tance re­gard­ing a tres­pass in­ci­dent that oc­curred in St James on Oc­to­ber 30. Just be­fore 1pm the res­i­dent of a house on Palmer­ston Street saw an un­known woman in her back yard. The woman started look­ing through win­dows of the house be­fore she no­ticed the res­i­dent watch­ing her and ran off. The woman is de­scribed as be­ing dark skinned with black hair tied in a bun. She was wear­ing a white T-shirt, black pants, a black cardi­gan and car­ry­ing a tan hand­bag.

At 7.47am on Box­ing Day, po­lice re­sponded to a sus­pi­cious man re­ported by a mem­ber of the pub­lic, who was seen break­ing into a deli in St James. A 29-year-old man was ar­rested and charged with bur­glary with in­tent and steal­ing.
