Four nabbed after burglary
A REDCLIFFE man was among four people arrested as part of an investigation into a burglary in Bassendean on January 7.
About 6.15am, an Audi Q7 and Audi RS5 were stolen from the Bassendean residence along with other items including a credit card that was used twice in Applecross, at 7.45am and 9.30am.
It was alleged the Audi RS5 and a white Ford Territory were present during the fraudulent usage of the card.
Several police units, including the Police Air Wing, were deployed to the southern suburbs to search for the vehicles.
The Ford Territory was observed being driven in Beckenham and Police Air Wing officers monitored the vehicle’s movements. The four occupants of the vehicle were arrested as they entered the carpark of a shopping centre on Albany Highway, Cannington.
A 54-year-old man from Redcliffe will be summonsed in relation to drug offences and a 23-year-old woman was released without charge.
A 36-year-old man from Koondoola has been charged with aggravated home burglary, two counts of stealing a motor vehicle, stealing, attempting to gain benefit by fraud and five counts of gaining benefit by fraud. He appeared in court and was refused bail. A 22-year-old woman from Bassendean was charged with stealing a motor vehicle and three counts of gaining benefit by fraud.
She has appeared in court and was refused bail.
