Four nabbed af­ter bur­glary

A REDCLIFFE man was among four peo­ple ar­rested as part of an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into a bur­glary in Bassendean on Jan­uary 7.

About 6.15am, an Audi Q7 and Audi RS5 were stolen from the Bassendean res­i­dence along with other items in­clud­ing a credit card that was used twice in Ap­ple­cross, at 7.45am and 9.30am.

It was al­leged the Audi RS5 and a white Ford Ter­ri­tory were present dur­ing the fraud­u­lent us­age of the card.

Sev­eral po­lice units, in­clud­ing the Po­lice Air Wing, were de­ployed to the south­ern sub­urbs to search for the ve­hi­cles.

The Ford Ter­ri­tory was ob­served be­ing driven in Beck­en­ham and Po­lice Air Wing of­fi­cers mon­i­tored the ve­hi­cle’s move­ments. The four oc­cu­pants of the ve­hi­cle were ar­rested as they en­tered the carpark of a shop­ping cen­tre on Al­bany High­way, Can­ning­ton.

A 54-year-old man from Redcliffe will be sum­monsed in re­la­tion to drug of­fences and a 23-year-old woman was re­leased with­out charge.

A 36-year-old man from Koon­doola has been charged with ag­gra­vated home bur­glary, two counts of steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle, steal­ing, at­tempt­ing to gain ben­e­fit by fraud and five counts of gain­ing ben­e­fit by fraud. He ap­peared in court and was re­fused bail. A 22-year-old woman from Bassendean was charged with steal­ing a mo­tor ve­hi­cle and three counts of gain­ing ben­e­fit by fraud.

She has ap­peared in court and was re­fused bail.
