Labor makes pledge to fund tennis club
WA Labor has promised $100,000 to upgrade Higgins Park Tennis Club in East Victoria Park if elected.
The proposed funding includes the installation of four new floodlit hard courts.
Club president Tom Leeming said he was delighted by the commitment.
“Funding to install four floodlit hard courts is a game-changer for the club and will underpin our ability to serve the Victoria Park community for another 50 years,” he said.
“The new courts will also allow us to work with more schools and families to get more kids active.
“Our current floodlit courts are fully used every weekday evening, meaning we often have to turn people away.”
