Makeover under way
WORK on Belmont Forum’s $65 million refurbishment began on Thursday, January 19.
Building works are well underway on a dining precinct, with six restaurants and an alfresco area, adjacent to the cinema complex.
It is due to open in April.
Carpark upgrades are in progress including additional bays, lighting and trees to provide more shade.
Work on a freshfood precinct will begin early next month, including a new Coles supermarket.
Existing malls and the shopping centre’s exterior will receive a much-needed upgrade.
Perron Group chief executive Ross Robertson, whose organisation owns Belmont Forum, said “the shopping centre has been a pillar in the community for over 40 years,” and was “evolving to meet the changing needs of people living and working around Belmont.”
Redevelopment is scheduled for completion in mid-2018.
