1 BELMONT Police have charged a 46-yearold man after a chase through Belmont on January 30. A Toyota Landcruiser parked on the side of a road was identified as having stolen number plates and matching the description of a car whose occupant was reported leaving a garage, allegedly without paying for petrol. Police pulled in behind the 4WD and were approaching the car on foot when the occupant allegedly sped away. Belmont officers gave chase, following the man through an industrial area and off road across a park before the driver cornered himself in a hotel car park. The man surrendered to police and was arrested. He has been charged with stealing, driving offences and for an outstanding warrant.
2 VICTORIA PARK KENSINGTON Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance after a woman was held by her neck while thieves robbed her Victoria Park house. Two males (pictured above) entered the McMillan Street house about 8.55pm on Friday, January 20, by smashing a window. A 44-year-old woman was home alone in the house at the time. One of the men held the victim around the neck, while the other stole items from the house. One of the men was also armed with a hammer. The two men then left the house, running off along McMillan Street.
KENSINGTON Police have charged two teens from Victoria Park with multiple counts of stealing following a spate of thefts from cars over the past month. A 16-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl were charged with 14 and 15 counts of stealing respectively, 12 counts of trespassing, nine counts of fraud and one count of receiving. The pair allegedly entered or stole from 30 cars within the suburbs of South Perth, Victoria Park and East Victoria Park.
