1 BEL­MONT Po­lice have charged a 46-yearold man af­ter a chase through Bel­mont on Jan­uary 30. A Toy­ota Land­cruiser parked on the side of a road was iden­ti­fied as hav­ing stolen num­ber plates and match­ing the de­scrip­tion of a car whose oc­cu­pant was re­ported leav­ing a garage, al­legedly with­out pay­ing for petrol. Po­lice pulled in be­hind the 4WD and were ap­proach­ing the car on foot when the oc­cu­pant al­legedly sped away. Bel­mont of­fi­cers gave chase, fol­low­ing the man through an in­dus­trial area and off road across a park be­fore the driver cor­nered him­self in a ho­tel car park. The man sur­ren­dered to po­lice and was ar­rested. He has been charged with steal­ing, driv­ing of­fences and for an out­stand­ing war­rant.

2 VIC­TO­RIA PARK KENS­ING­TON De­tec­tives are seek­ing the pub­lic’s as­sis­tance af­ter a woman was held by her neck while thieves robbed her Vic­to­ria Park house. Two males (pic­tured above) en­tered the McMil­lan Street house about 8.55pm on Fri­day, Jan­uary 20, by smash­ing a win­dow. A 44-year-old woman was home alone in the house at the time. One of the men held the vic­tim around the neck, while the other stole items from the house. One of the men was also armed with a ham­mer. The two men then left the house, run­ning off along McMil­lan Street.

KENS­ING­TON Po­lice have charged two teens from Vic­to­ria Park with mul­ti­ple counts of steal­ing fol­low­ing a spate of thefts from cars over the past month. A 16-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl were charged with 14 and 15 counts of steal­ing re­spec­tively, 12 counts of tres­pass­ing, nine counts of fraud and one count of re­ceiv­ing. The pair al­legedly en­tered or stole from 30 cars within the sub­urbs of South Perth, Vic­to­ria Park and East Vic­to­ria Park.
