Octopus mural worth celebrating

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - STREET WATCH -

WRIGHT Street in Kewdale has had a splash of colour, with a mural by aerosol artist Drew Straker appearing on the wall of Celebrations Carlisle.

Camera-shy Mr Straker, also known as The Muralist, has created popular murals across Perth, including an anti-corruption piece commissioned by the WA Corruption and Crime Commission in December last year.

A keen skateboarder, Mr Straker first got into graffiti at 14 and has gone on to teach other young people in art programs for youth at risk.

Celebrations Carlisle managing d464926 director Adam O’Brien has been working with Carlisle Primary School on a program where students will work with the artist to create a design for the fence opposite the school.
