BELMONT chief executive Stuart Cole said Belmont’s top priority was widening Great Eastern Highway, between Tonkin Highway and the Great Eastern Highway Bypass.
“This has been on Main Roads WA’s project list for some time and should be a priority,” said Mr Cole.
Funding for the redevelopment of the Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre, for which concepts are currently being developed, including the youth plaza as part of the City’s Oasis Masterplan.
Support from State Government planning authorities for Great Eastern Highway, including increased public transport and the City’s desire to minimise service stations, fast food and uses incompatible with mixed-use developments.
Ongoing support and funding for the Development Area 6 Vision and Structure Plan surrounding the new Belmont train station.
The upgrade and redevelopment of the Ascot Kilns site.
Funding for library, museum and seniors facilities in the City’s new Community Building.
Enhanced public transport support into the City’s key industrial/commercial areas such as Kewdale and Belmont Business Park.
Funding for Swan River foreshore restoration.
