BEL­MONT chief ex­ec­u­tive Stu­art Cole said Bel­mont’s top pri­or­ity was widen­ing Great East­ern High­way, be­tween Tonkin High­way and the Great East­ern High­way By­pass.

“This has been on Main Roads WA’s pro­ject list for some time and should be a pri­or­ity,” said Mr Cole.

Fund­ing for the rede­vel­op­ment of the Bel­mont Oa­sis Leisure Cen­tre, for which con­cepts are cur­rently be­ing de­vel­oped, in­clud­ing the youth plaza as part of the City’s Oa­sis Master­plan.

Sup­port from State Gov­ern­ment plan­ning au­thor­i­ties for Great East­ern High­way, in­clud­ing in­creased pub­lic trans­port and the City’s de­sire to min­imise ser­vice sta­tions, fast food and uses in­com­pat­i­ble with mixed-use de­vel­op­ments.

On­go­ing sup­port and fund­ing for the Devel­op­ment Area 6 Vi­sion and Struc­ture Plan sur­round­ing the new Bel­mont train sta­tion.

The up­grade and rede­vel­op­ment of the As­cot Kilns site.

Fund­ing for li­brary, mu­seum and se­niors fa­cil­i­ties in the City’s new Com­mu­nity Build­ing.

En­hanced pub­lic trans­port sup­port into the City’s key in­dus­trial/com­mer­cial areas such as Kew­dale and Bel­mont Busi­ness Park.

Fund­ing for Swan River fore­shore restora­tion.
