Forum on hot topics

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - STATE ELECTION ‘17 -

HOT topics such as highrise buildings and crime will be discussed at a South Perth election forum tomorrow night.

The City of South Perth Residents’ Association will host the meeting with other community organisations at the South Perth Community Hall at 7pm. The public is invited to listen to the seven candidates who will contest the seat.

Association chairwoman Cecilia Brooke said the public needed to know about the candidates and their policies.

“We all have pertinent questions about the area and not the big picture of the election. Each candidate will be given an allotted period of time,” she said.

Organisations represented will include Save Como Action Group, JMH Action Group and Manning Community Association.

Association deputy chairman Robin Mulder said he expected Development Assessment Panels, “mega high-rise buildings”, crime, the South Perth station precinct and traffic to be discussed.

The candidates for the seat of South Perth are:

Jason St Martin (Micro Business Party)

Max Francis (Independent) Mark Brogan (Greens) John McGrath (Liberal)
