KIND PEOPLE WHO DO PERTH PROUD

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

LAST week my daughter was driving with three young children in her car along Alexander Road in Belmont and was involved in a serious accident.

Thankfully, although the car was badly damaged, the baby twin girls and their sister were unharmed.

I was travelling behind their car and witnessed the accident.

I would just like to thank all the helpful locals who came to our assistance, both with witness statements and offers of help.

Several people offered water, helped hold the babies and comforted them. We were offered a spare car seat and were generally supported during this ordeal.

We were also very impressed with the quick response of the emergency services.

The fire brigade was very helpful and professional, as were the ambulance crews. The police eventually responded to our plight and took control of the situation.

The ambulance took the children to Princess Margaret Hospital for monitoring and the staff there were remarkable. We sincerely thank the doctors and nurses for their very good care.

After such a traumatic experience it is terrific to think that so many people were willing to help us out.

Many thanks to you all. It goes to show that people in Perth really are wonderful people. Name and address supplied.
