EAST VICTORIA PARK A CAMILLO man has been charged but his passenger escaped after the man crashed a stolen Jaguar sedan into a power pole in East Victoria Park while allegedly evading police on March 4. A Jaguar was allegedly stolen from a home burgled in Bradman Drive, Butler, at 3pm and was seen by police an hour later in Desmond Place in Rivervale. The 20-year-old driver failed to stop and evaded police through Rivervale, Lathlain, Carlisle, Welshpool, Bentley, St James, Karawara, Kensington, Victoria Park and East Victoria Park as the police Air Wing followed above. The Jaguar lost a rear tyre but the driver kept going until crashing into a power pole and an occupied vehicle on Shepperton Road in East Victoria Park. The driver of the hit vehicle was unharmed. The Jaguar’s driver attempted to flee on foot but was caught and arrested. His unknown passenger managed to escape. The man appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday, March 5, charged with aggravated burglary, stealing, stealing a motor vehicle and driving recklessly, reckless driving to escape pursuit by police, failing to comply with a direction to stop, no authority to drive (never held a licence) and failing to stop for property damage. Inquires will continue to identify and locate the passenger. BURSWOOD REGIONAL Investigations Unit detectives executed a search warrant on March 3 at a home on The Circus in Burswood. With the assistance of the Tactical Response Group and Canine Section, police found several firearms, ammunition, prohibited drugs and paraphernalia. A 39-year-old man from the address was charged with three counts of aggravated possession of firearms, two counts of possessing unlicensed ammunition and one count of possessing a prohibited drug. He appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on March 4, where he was remanded in custody until his next hearing on March 17.
