ST BENEDICT’S PRIMARY SCHOOL

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - LIFESTYLE -

IN the Applecross parish, St Benedict’s Primary School is a double-stream Catholic school catering for Kindergarten to Year 6.

The school has recently undergone an $8 million upgrade and boasts brand new facilities that cater for 21st century learning.

The philosophy used to deliver the curriculum is based on the Kathy Walker Approach whereby concepts are explicitly taught to students and then made real to them through a range of engaging inquiry-based tasks focused on personal interests relating to the real world.

There are many extracurricular pursuits such as the STEM Challenge Club, Performing Arts Club, Choir and interschool sporting teams.

The school’s biggest strength is its sense of community.

The family atmosphere that resides is evident as soon as you walk in the door.

For prospective parents there will be an information session on Friday, April 28 in the school library.
