Hens­man Park nets an­other state ti­tle

HENS­MAN Park Ten­nis Club has claimed the 201617 State League Ti­tle af­ter beat­ing Mos­man Park.

The South Perth-based club used its fi­nals ex­pe­ri­ence and home-court ad­van­tage to claim its sev­enth ti­tle in 12 years over the State League Fi­nal debu­tants.

Home-side cap­tain Zach Itzstein launched Hens­man’s Fi­nal’s cam­paign with an im­pres­sive 6-3, 6-1 win against Bren­ton Ba­con.

This was fol­lowed by a dom­i­nant per­for­mance by team­mate Cameron Fen­ner who took the sec­ond sin­gles match 6-4, 6-3 against Sam Alexan­der.

Mos­man Park’s star re­cruit Bry­dan Klein was able to claim his sin­gles match for the club, with a con­vinc­ing 6-3, 6-2 win against James Con­nelly.

Klein then part­nered with Sam Alexan­der in the dou­bles over Itzstein and Fen­ner.

Af­ter a tight first set, the Hens­man pair walked away with the win 7-5, 6-0.

Af­ter se­cur­ing three rub­bers and seven sets over Mos­man Park’s one rub­ber and one set, the fourth sin­gles match be­tween Hens­man Park’s Marco Co­muzzo and Mos­man Park’s Ge­orge Perez was halted in the third set.
