GARVEY Park hosted a fun-filled Autumn River Festival on Sunday, April 2.

About 4000 people soaked up the sun by the Swan River for the City of Belmont’s annual free event, enjoying live water ski shows, a hole-in-one golf competition, market stalls, and live entertainment on stage.

Kids had a variety of different activities to keep them engaged, from carnival rides to a climbing wall, foam pit, camel and train rides, and face painting.

“This event is a highlight in the City of Belmont calendar, with councillors and staff helping on the day to make it special for the community,” Mayor Phil Marks said.

Local residents who presented their Opportunity Cards were treated to free Kailis fish and chips, ice cream, wine tastings and native seedlings.
