Elphick wins Notre Dame scholarship
MANNING resident Nicholas Elphick won a university scholarship for his contribution to sport, specifically water polo.
Elphick is studying physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame and has represented the State and the nation in water polo, with sights set on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
This year, he hopes to represent Australia at the U20 World FINA Water Polo Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, in August.
“I would like to thank the Prendiville family for providing this scholarship, which will help me with my studies and in achieving my future goals,” Elphick said.
The university’s Prendiville Scholarship was established by the Prendiville family and is given to an outstanding graduate from Aquinas College.
Peter Prendiville is the current University Chancellor.
“The School of Physiotherapy is delighted to welcome Nicholas to the Notre Dame community.
“We look forward to helping Nicholas realise his career ambitions as a physiotherapist,” Dean of the School of Physiotherapy Professor Jo Connaughton said.
