Two charged af­ter multi-agency probe

A COMO woman is one of two peo­ple charged as part of a multi-agency in­ves­ti­ga­tion con­ducted by WA Po­lice, the Cor­rup­tion and Crime Com­mis­sion and the Depart­ment of Trans­port.

In Jan­uary 2017 in­for­ma­tion ob­tained dur­ing a WA Po­lice il­licit drug op­er­a­tion, fo­cused on the ac­tiv­i­ties of a 28-year-old Da­lyellup man, raised con­cerns about the ac­tiv­i­ties of a 27-year-old woman em­ployed by the Depart­ment of Trans­port.

It will be al­leged the woman ac­cessed in­for­ma­tion on the Depart­ment of Trans­port com­puter sys­tem and pro­vided that in­for­ma­tion to the man.

On March 3, South-West De­tec­tives ex­e­cuted a search war­rant at a res­i­dence in Da­lyellup and ar­rested the man.

At the same time staff from the Cor­rup­tion and Crime Com­mis­sion took the woman to their of­fice to be in­ter­viewed.

The woman will ap­pear in the Perth Mag­is­trates Court on April 21 charged with un­law­fully us­ing a com­puter for ben­e­fit, act­ing cor­ruptly in her per­for­mance or dis­charge of du­ties and dis­clos­ing of­fi­cial se­crets.
