Fashion fun for charity
ROTARY Club of Como members will strut the catwalk, all in the name of charity.
The club’s second annual Fashion Show will take place at the Manning Memorial Bowling Club on April 28, with money going to The Esther Foundation and Zonta House Refuge Association.
Club fundraising director Alan Ramsay said more than 220 people came to last year’s event, which raised $7500.
“We are partnering with O’Briens Clothing Company again; they have been very helpful by supplying garments for the show and for the raffle,” he said.
“There was a fantastic atmosphere last year with about two-thirds of the audience not being club members. The models are members of the club; they are not professional.”
Mr Ramsay said the event was one of the club’s two main fundraisers each year, with its Wesley Car Show in October d467631 being the other one.
“We also do parking for events with the money going to organisations such as Ngala, Manna, Carson Street School and the Manning Men’s Shed,” he said.
“There will be a raffle, music from Helen Shanahan and the MC on the night will be ABC presenter Di Darmody.
“The reason we chose The Esther Foundation and Zonta House Refuge Association was because they care for women.”
