WE WILL KEEP AN EYE ON SCHOOLS

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - STREET WATCH -

WE will be out in force during the school holidays to ensure schools are not being targeted by vandals. We will be patrolling schools regularly and working with education security officers at a time when empty schools are often targeted. It is also a timely reminder for people to keep their property secure, especially in the shopping centre carparks. We encourage people to report suspicious behaviour if they see it. – Senior Sergeant Glenn Dowding

BELMONT KENSINGTON Detectives have arrested a 65-year-old Belmont man and charged him with acts intending to cause grievous bodily harm. It will be alleged that about 3.10pm on April 4, the man assaulted a woman who was known to him at a residence on Somers Street in Belmont. The 49-year-old woman was located by a member of the public with serious injuries at the corner of Sydenham and Somers streets. The woman was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital. BENTLEY POLICE are seeking assistance in identifying a woman who they believe may be able to assist them with a robbery incident that occurred on April 2 in Bentley. About 8.25am, a woman entered a grocery store and selected items from the store including milk, cheese and other goods, and placed them in a black bag. When the woman made her way to the counter, attempting to only pay for a carton of milk, she was challenged by a staff member who saw other items in her bag. The woman threw the carton of milk at the staff member and left the store with the remaining groceries. The woman is described as light skinned, 30-40 years old, approximately 175cm tall with shoulder length brown hair. Quote reference number 8476 when ringing Crime Stoppers.
