Aquinas teams dom­i­nant

AQUINAS Col­lege stu­dents saw a spike in form as they com­peted in vol­ley­ball com­pe­ti­tions.

They had a suc­cess­ful sea­son, win­ning the Public Schools As­so­ci­a­tion (PSA) Br Car­rigg Shield and an­nual Ross­moyne/Aquinas clash.

The Col­lege’s teams were un­de­feated across all year groups through­out the PSA sea­son.

The an­nual Ross­moyne/ Aquinas clash, now in its sec­ond year, saw Aquinas play­ers com­pete against teams from Ross­moyne’s spe­cialty Vol­ley­ball pro­gram last week.

Aquinas teams won ev­ery game – Year 8, 9, 10 and Open – to clinch the ti­tle for this year.

The vol­ley­ball ac­tion con­tin­ued when some stu­dents com­peted at the Aus­tralia Ju­nior Beach Vol­ley­ball Cham­pi­onships at Scar­bor­ough Beach on April 6 to 9. The two teams who played for the Bronze in the U15 Boys had Aquinas stu­dents on both sides – Sa­muel Bate­man, Dane Ukich and Oliver Oaten won Bronze in U15 against Sa­muel McLean, Sa­muel Wilhelm and Lochlan Wat­son.

Broth­ers Sa­muel Bate­man, Grif­fin Bate­man, Sa­muel McLean, Lach­lan McLean, Zak Dempsey and Tom Dempsey com­peted in the vol­ley­ball cham­pi­onships.
