Ea­gles en­joy suc­cess­ful sea­son on green

THE Man­ning Ea­gles Bowling Club has capped off an­other sen­sa­tional year by win­ning both the men’s and women’s ma­jor Premier League ti­tles.

Both Premier League teams fin­ished on top of their re­spec­tive lad­ders af­ter the home and away rounds.

In the Women’s Tues­day Premier League fi­nal, Man­ning de­feated Mos­man Park.

The Satur­day Men’s Premier League fi­nal against Os­borne Park was a thriller and af­ter 84 ends the scores were level. An ex­tra end was played and Man­ning pre­vailed by seven shots.

In the Satur­day Pen­nant, Man­ning Women’s sec­ond di­vi­sion Lime de­feated Melville by 24 points in a great win to claim the club’s third pen­nant for the sea­son.

Apart from the pen­nant per­for­mances, the club was suc­cess­ful in win­ning two awards at the Bowls Aus­tralia An­nual Pre­sen­ta­tion Din­ner.

To­gether with He­lensvale Bowling Club in Queens­land, the club were joint win­ners of Bowls Aus­tralia’s Bowling Club of the Year and Ladies’ club coach Therese Hast­ings was named Coach of the Year.
