RSL branch seeking new members
THE South Perth RSL will open its doors in an effort to attract more members and allow the public to understand what it does.
The sub-branch on Angelo Street will be open from April 30 from 2pm to 4.30pm.
South Perth RSL president Alan Stringer said the open day was an opportunity for the people to get to know the RSL members and possibly become one themselves.
“We previously held an open day during the Angelo Street Marketplace,” he said.
“We are already an amalgamation of four clubs and we have about 70 members, but we are lucky to get 14 or 15 to a meeting.
“At the moment we meet on the third Monday of each month at noon but we would be open to changing it if it suited new members.
“I’m sure there are more people out there who have served.
“We are welcoming people who have been affiliated with serving, such as their father or mother.”
