Small busi­ness awards open

BEL­MONT and Western Aus­tralia’s best small busi­nesses are in­vited to nominate for the 2017 Small Busi­ness Awards.

The 24th an­nual Bel­mont & Western Aus­tralia Small Busi­ness Awards were launched on April 27 at the City of Bel­mont Civic Cen­tre by Mayor Phil Marks.

Co-or­di­nated by the Bel­mont En­ter­prise Cen­tre, the 26 award cat­e­gories are open for en­tries from small busi­nesses, in­di­vid­u­als and or­gan­i­sa­tions from across the State, and pro­vide en­cour­age­ment for achieve­ment and busi­ness ex­cel­lence.

Cat­e­gories in­clude the Bel­mont Ro­tary Busi­nessper­son of the Year, the South­ern Gazette Com­mu­nity Spirit award, Perth Air­port Vol­un­teer of the Year, Qbit Tech­nol­ogy Award and more.

En­trants can ac­cess a wide range of sup­port in pre­par­ing their sub­mis­sion, in­clud­ing free award en­try kits, work­shops, we­bi­nars, and ac­cess to men­tors.

Nom­i­nees and spe­cial guests will be in­vited to the ‘Night of Stars’ pre­sen­ta­tion event at the Perth Ex­hi­bi­tion and Con­ven­tion Cen­tre ball­room on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 25.

The event at the Civic Cen­tre also marked the launch of the 2017 de­signedge In­no­va­tion Fes­ti­val, with small busi­ness own­ers, in­no­va­tors, de­sign­ers, cre­atives and more com­ing to­gether for work­shops, networking and fo­rums over the six-week fes­ti­val pe­riod.
