Angels help out animals

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - STREET WATCH -

THERE were squeakyclean pooches and happy kittens abound after the Perth Rescue Angels fundraiser on May 13.

The car wash at Pet Stock Belmont became a dog wash after traffic permit issues, with the Delicious nightclub dancers shampooing canines rather than cars.

The dancers and volunteers from Perth Rescue Angels were raising funds to help pay the notfor-profit’s mounting vet bills and costs.

Despite the switch, the charity raised over $2500 on the day, with six kittens also finding homes during the group’s adoption drive.

Rescue Angels committee member Ben Roberts said the response to the event was fantastic.

“People loved it. They thought it was a great idea, the feedback was good. People loved having the hunks washing their dogs,” Mr Roberts said.

“We’ll be working something out with Delicious again; they’ve said they’re keen to do it every few months for us.”
