KENSINGTON Detectives have charged three men following an incident in St James on Thursday, June 1. About 6.10am, a male taxi driver collected the three men from Hill View Terrace and began driving to a destination. An altercation took place between the driver and the men. It will be alleged that one of the men struck the driver with a knife, causing a minor injury. The driver stopped the vehicle and got out. The three men also got out of the taxi and the altercation continued outside the vehicle. It is further alleged the three men then got back into the taxi, driving it away. The men allegedly drove the taxi on Hill View Terrace to Albany Highway before abandoning it near Hubert Street, East Victoria Park. Police were called and identified the three men, who were arrested and later charged. The male taxi driver, a 30-year-old man from Bentley, sought medical attention for a minor wound. A 26-year-old man from Kenwick and 26-year-old man from East Victoria Park were charged with aggravated armed robbery, acts or omissions causing bodily harm or danger to any person, stealing a motor vehicle and assaulting the driver of a taxi. A 15-year-old boy from Darlington was charged with aggravated armed robbery and stealing a motor vehicle.
