Volunteers needed for aged care visits

Southern Gazette (South Perth) - - OPINION -

SOUTHCARE is calling for volunteers to help out with the Community Visitor Scheme, which matches residents with residents in aged care facilities or people who have become isolated from the community.

Southcare interviews the resident and then advertises on VolunteeringWA website for a “friend” who has similar interests and can visit for about an hour each week.

It is a requirement in the aged care industry that all volunteers have a current Volunteers Police Clearance, but Southcare will apply and pay for this.

Contact Volunteers and Community Services manager Vicki Morrell on 9450 6233 or vicki.m@ southcare.org.au to make an appointment to meet at their premises in Manning or at your home.
