Business park upgrade a jobs boost
BELMONT Business Park is in the midst of a $12 million upgrade.
The multi-million dollar infrastructure project is being funded by the City of Belmont and the Federal Government’s Stronger Regions Fund to bring more jobs and employment opportunities to the area.
Works so far have concentrated on the rollout of a street parking program on Abernethy Road, Campbell Street, Robinson Avenue and others, to increase the number of car bays in the area for an immediate benefit to customers.
The other major component of the project is a Belmont Avenue upgrade between Great Eastern Highway and Alexander Road, with works expected to take place in 2018 and finishing in early 2019.
The business park is bounded by Great Eastern Highway, Knutsford Avenue and Belgravia Street, and is home to 800 businesses from a variety of sectors.
Federal Employment Minister Michaelia Cash recently toured the area to meet with local businesses and see firsthand how the business park is progressing.
